Cameron Baines - President

Hello! I am Cameron Baines, and I am the 2022-2023 BSF president at WCU. I’m majoring in electrical engineering, after an associate degree in mechatronics engineering from SCC. I am a local to the Cullowhee area and have had most of my walk with Christ in the Christ Fellowship Church

My hobbies include tinkering with electrical projects, arts and crafts, and playing video and board games.

I was welcomed at BSF, finding a warm and comforting group of friends I wasn’t sure I would be able to find on campus. BSF feels like a second home. As president this year, I hope to create the same atmosphere for anyone wanting to join!

Megan Kinstler - Vice President

Hey y’all! My name is Megan Kinstler, and I am the vice president for BSF! I am an accounting and finance double major, going into my junior year at WCU. I am also in the Pride of the Mountains Marching Band!

I originally came to BSF because a friend invited me and I wanted to find a fellowship group on campus. My favorite thing about BSF is the fact that we are all a family and love hanging out with one another every Thursday night. I am super excited to meet all of you!

Brian Koonts - Worship Leader

Hi! My name is Brian Koonts. I am a Jackson County native and a sophomore in mechanical engineering at WCU. After playing on the praise team last year, I now serve as the BSF worship leader. Also, I have been playing in local worship bands for the past five years. I hope you will come on out to BSF on Thursday nights and join us for our worship experience.

Jessica Rial - Cook Team Leader

I am Jessica Rial from Nashville, Tennessee. I love all things nature and photography. You will find me anywhere I can get some fun photos or in the kitchen, cooking whatever my heart desires. I look forward to what these beautiful mountains have to offer while I am here at WCU.

Kaitlyn Cabaniss - New Student Advisor

Hi everyone! I’m Kaitlyn Cabaniss, and I'm your New Student Advisor! I’m a sophomore communications major with a love for ministry! I am from Kannapolis, NC and have grown up in the Baptist Church.

My goal this year is to help everyone find a home within both Baptist Student Fellowship and Western Carolina University. I want to share the love of God with others and continue to grow within my own walk, while also helping others grow spiritually.

This past summer I worked at Fort Caswell with kindergarteners. I was given the opportunity to witness to them daily, by teaching them about Christ. This was important to me because many of these kids did not regularly attend church and had little-to-no knowledge about the gospel whatsoever.

I cannot wait to meet y’all and grow closer to you all through our shared faith.
